Guild Raids - Tips and Tricks

Hello Riders!

*REMINDER* Our first Guild raid vs BOURGARD is this FRIDAY April 04/14 @ 1800 (6pm) EST Timezone. If you're unsure as to when this is in YOUR timezone, follow this link for conversions: Time Zone Conversion Webpage

LET'S TALK GUILD RAIDS!

You know that mysterious world on the main Quest map called "Ragnall's Cove"? That's where the action happens! When we've saved up enough scrolls either from adventuring or winning them in the Guild Scroll arenas, we'll be able to battle a boss in what's called a GUILD RAID. The guild raid is started by the guild leader and allows the guilds members to enter Ragnall's Cove and initiate battle against whatever boss we've decided. These raids are usually scheduled in advance to ensure that:
  1. Everyone knows WHEN the battle will take place
  2. Everyone is able to participate
The whole purpose of joining a guild (aside from meeting awesome people) is to be able to participate in these guild raids. From them you have a high chance of getting really good cards and other drops as well as potentially getting a copy of the boss card itself!

Typically participation is mandatory, as if not enough guild members show up, the odds of the guild being able to fully defeat the boss go down drastically and you may not even get the chance to earn his card. That's why the schedule for guild raids is posted in advance, so that it can be modified if necessary to allow everyone to participate.

When the fabled date / time arrive to perform a Guild Raid, click on Ragnall's Cove and the instead of the boss "sleeping" you will have the option to fight him. When you do so you'll end up in a dungeon looking place and you'll have the chance to engage the boss!

HOW DOES IT WORK? HOW DO WE DO BATTLE?

As always, fighting "monsters" uses your MANA. If you've heard me harping about mana / stamina allocations in our chat you'll know that I reccomend a Stamina of NO GREATER than 110. I used to suggest 100, but since we're now able to get to level 100 (instead of 80) I'm hoping that those extra 20 levels also = an extra 20 points to distribute. The rest of your points should all be put in Mana.

I suggest looking at your mana maximum, dividing that number by 2 and making a team that costs no more than that amount. (Example: I currently have 168 mana, so I'd try to make a team of no more than 168/2 = 84.) By doing this you will be able to fight with your team TWICE before needing to use a mana potion to refill your bar. If you go in with your max team you'll probably have to use a full potion EVERY attack which is not very efficient and wastes your valuable potions.

NOTE: Always save your mana potions for guild raids! Use them for NOTHING else!!!

You will have 4x different ways to attack the boss:
  1. Sneak
  2. Back
  3. Side
  4. Front
Each different place you attack will result in the boss doing different damage and having different health. So when you "sneak attack" them, they won't do much damage and will have few hitpoints. BUT if you attack their "front", they will do more damage and have more hitpoints.

Try to battle them from the HIGHEST difficulty level you can as the harder the position you attack into (Sneak<Back<Side<Front) the better the chance at higher rewards you will receive!

We will have to continually attack the boss until they are dead. In my old guild this took less than 10 minutes, but for us newbies we're probably looking at around 30 minutes to kill him (Bourgard). When the boss is finally defeated, all of our names will be displayed as well as how much damage you've done to him. There are ADDITIONAL rewards that are then issued based on how much damage you did AND one lucky guildie from each tier (Gold / Silver / Bronze) will get a special card ON TOP OF the regular award. The "special" award is given out randomly amongst each tier (we roll for it! Highest roll wins!) so just because you deal the most damage it does not guarantee that you will get the best prize ;).

END LESSON ONE!

So that's a quick breakdown of Guild Raids. If you have more questions, post them on this page so that we can all read them and reply. I'll try my best to keep this page updated and add more info as questions arise! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU NEED HELP!!!

Good luck tomorrow PALE_RIDERS! RIDE HARD!
